This MortalMedical Body investigates the impact that language has on the healing of the body through the lenses of medicine and movement. I examines the western healthcare system from the perspective of both patients and doctors with a specific focus on female identified individuals’ experiences.
At a time where the body is still being used as a tool, a shield, a battle ground and an object, it shows womxn are using language to care for themselves and others within the political and social structure of health.
This MortalMedical Body is currently under development with anticipated premier in fall 2020. Thank you to Connection Dance Works’ Perspective Residency and The Garage Toronto for their support of the work’s development.
