Roxanne Korpan is an independent dance artist and graduate student (PhD, University of Toronto) originally from Regina, Saskatchewan and now residing and working in Toronto, Ontario. In Toronto, Roxanne has worked as a dance artist in the film “Blade and Silk” (directed by Corynne Bisson and choreographed by Raine Kearns) and with The Garage, with which she recently performed at Ontario Dance Weekend. In Regina, Roxanne co-founded Big Sky Dance Collective, a collaborative creation and performance group; has performed in New Dance Horizons’ House of Dance and Blueprint performance series and the Creative City Centre’s Killjoy Club series; and has worked as a dance artist with Regina’s Globe Theatre and Rouge-gorge. Much of Roxanne’s work has been informed by the challenges and opportunities of working in a small but vibrant contemporary dance community that thrives on relationships built between artists, audiences, and communities. She is currently establishing such an artistic home and network in Toronto.
